Today, Gilmore Enterprises is owned by Alejandro Rodriguez, a lifelong Volkswagen enthusiast and owner of a respected VW repair shop in Central Florida. Continuing a tradition that spans nearly three decades, Alejandro remains committed to providing high-quality air conditioning solutions and expert customer support to fellow VW owners.

Gilmore Enterprises was originally founded in 1996 by Ed Muha, who spent nearly twenty years building the company into a trusted name within the air-cooled VW community. During that time, Gilmore systems became well known through Volkswagen magazines and enthusiast circles for delivering cooling performance that classic VW owners could finally depend on.

When Ed retired, the company was acquired by Frank Buoncito, who carried the Gilmore tradition forward for several years, with Ed continuing to assist in the business after retirement. Later, ownership passed to Sean Wright, a passionate Volkswagen enthusiast from Southern California. Sean and his wife, Cristina, successfully operated Gilmore until 2025, preserving the company's reputation for quality, innovation, and customer service.
